What adhesive can I use to apply the press-on nails?

There are two options for applying your nails - nail glue or nail tabs and both are available in the store. Which one is right for you, depends on what you want from your nails. Keep reading for my view on each option.

Nail Tabs are a great no damage solution for temporary application. Nail tabs keep my nails on for about 2-3 days and would probably last longer if I did things like wear gloves when I wash the dishes. I like nail tabs because the adhesive loosens as you go about your week and you’ll notice the nail start to eventually come lose. When it does - I just take off the nail and remove the sticky tab from the press-on nail. Sometimes I just grab another tab and pop the nail back on, while other times I take the opportunity to change my whole set of nails. Click here for a tutorial on applying the Nail Tabs.

Nail Glue is great for wanting your nail to last for about a week without having to reapply. I like nail glue because of the duration of how long they stay on. While the adhesive will loosen throughout the week, you may find that you have to soak your nail in acetone (nail polish remover) to remove any glue residue. This process is just like removing gel polish at the salon. I put a cotton ball soaked in polish on my nail, wrap it up in foil to keep it secure, and then check out Facebook for a few minutes. After a couple minutes of soaking all the left over nail residue comes off.

No matter which option you choose, your press-on nails will last longer if you take time to clean and prepare your nails prior to application. I like to use a little cuticle remover and take a minute to push my cuticles back, then dry off my nail. Then I take the nail polish wipe and clean off any remaining oil from the nail. Then I apply the the nail. The key here is I do a quick swipe of nail polish remover and apply the nail one at a time starting with my pinky fingers. I like to work my way up the hands leaving my thumbs for last - it helps!

what are custom nails

Custom nails are my speciality! They are designed with you in mind and for your special event. I’ve made nails for competitive dancers to match their routine costumes, nails that provide the extra accent for Halloween costumes, and nails with just fun designs that help you stand out from the basic french manicure everyone wears.

If you’re interested in a set of Custom Nails, complete the contact form and let me know a little bit about what you’re looking for. Items you may want to include are: Nail shape and size, costume / outfit design details, and a little about the event you are wearing them to.

How long do Custom Nails Take to Make

The honest answer is it depends on what you want. I do make each nail individually, and I tend to be a perfectionist. For most custom nails 7-10 days should be all it takes from order to ship. Nails designed to match dance costumes may take longer if we decide to order stones I don’t have in stock, to match the stones on your costume(s). Each custom nail design comes with a consultation for us to discuss what you’re looking for and make sure I can deliver in time for your nails to be fantastic!

What Shipping Options Are Available?

To keep shipping costs low - I like to use basic first class shipping. However, if you need rush shipping so you have great nails before vacation or a big event, I can certainly work to make that happen for you. Just send me a message and I’ll see what can be done.

Do you accept returns?

Standard nails can be returned or exchanged if not yet applied - return shipping costs are paid for by the buyer

Since custom nails are designed to match you and your occasion, they are not eligible for return.
